Description

Job Summary:

The Ambulatory Care Medical-Surgical Nurse is a registered professional responsible for delivering comprehensive bedside care within an outpatient ambulatory environment. This role involves performing assessments, administering treatments, educating patients and families, and ensuring high standards of safety and quality in accordance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies. The nurse collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans, fostering a healing and supportive environment, while also demonstrating leadership and commitment to ongoing professional development.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse (RN) license, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, at least 1 year of nursing experience in ambulatory care or medical-surgical nursing, and able to communicate effectively in English.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in ambulatory outpatient settings, proficiency with electronic health records and clinical technology, and prior experience teaching or mentoring staff.
  • Additional Information: The nurse will provide hands-on patient care, perform assessments, develop care plans, and educate patients and families regarding self-care and illness prevention. Responsibilities include monitoring patient responses, participating in team meetings, and adhering to clinical policies and safety standards. The role requires quick problem-solving skills, ability to respond to emergencies, and active participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
