Description
Job Summary:
The Henderson, Kentucky-based Step Down and Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) position involves providing patient care in a dedicated stepdown/telemetry unit. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment. The role entails working 12-hour day shifts, with a guaranteed minimum of 36 hours per week, and includes holiday and weekend rotations. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work within a seasoned nursing team at a teaching hospital.

- Required Qualifications: Current active compact license; Associate Degree or Certificate; AHA Basic Life Support (BLS); AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); at least 2 years of RN experience, including one solid year in stepdown/Progressive Care Units (PCU), with one travel assignment; recent EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) experience; must pass telecommunication skills tests for tele interpretation; and experience in initiating and titrating insulin, heparin, and cardiac drips.
- Preferred Qualifications: PIV insertion, stable home ventilators, chest tube/indwelling drain management, CBI (Conscious Bypass Infusion), stable drips such as Lasix and Protonix, blood product administration, continuous BiPap, drain management, neutropenic precautions, and strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Additional Information: Cross campus float to Deaconess Newburgh (IN) and Deaconess Gateway (IN) may be required with a 2-hour notice; float to other campuses within skillset is also possible. Every third weekend and every other holiday shift rotation. Holiday rotations are every other holiday.
- Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required, with a checkoff class provided.
