Job Summary:
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in the Maryland city of La Plata. This role involves providing acute nursing care in a fast-paced emergency department setting. Candidates must bring their nursing license on the first day. The position requires candidates to have a strong skill set and experience in emergency nursing and is suitable for first-time travelers with relevant skills.

Job Details:

• Location: La Plata, Maryland
• Shift: 3x12 Night shifts (7:00 PM 7:30 AM), with 36 or 48-hour options available.
• Required Qualifications: Active Maryland or Compact State RN license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certifications, CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification, and a minimum of 2 years of emergency nursing experience, including experience with patient ratios of 4:1.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with charting systems such as Epic, community hospital experience, and familiarity with emergency patient care procedures.
• Patient Population: All age groups, including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.
• Patient Diagnoses and Procedures: Care involves a broad spectrum of conditions such as abdominal pain, acute psychosis, asthma, stroke, gunshot wounds, head injury, hyperglycemia, respiratory infections, seizures, sickle cell crises, spinal cord injury, and cardiac emergencies like STEMI.
• Additional Information: The shift includes scheduled holiday work as required and a mandated flu vaccine with no exemptions. Candidates must be comfortable floating within scope with no restrictions or special requests.
• Submission Requirements: Past charge experience, minimum of 2 years of emergency RN experience, experience with a patient ratio of 4, and preferred charting system experience in Epic.
