Job Summary
The ICU Certified Registered Nurse (CRN) position is located in San Antonio, Texas, within the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This role involves providing advanced critical care to patients with cardiovascular conditions, including those post-cardiac surgery or with various cardiac support devices. Candidates are required to bring their Texas nursing license on the first day.

- Shift Details: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM / 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- Quantity: 2 positions
- Assignment Length: 13 or 26 weeks
- Hours Per Week: Minimum of 36 hours
- Schedule: Night shifts available with rotation, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid Texas RN license; at least 2 years of ICU experience; ACLS, BLS; experience with hemodynamic monitoring including swans and arterial lines; ventilator management; strong critical thinking skills; experience with Meditech electronic medical record system.
- Preferred Qualifications: Exposure to intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and ECMO; advanced certifications relevant to cardiac ICU.
- Float Policy: All travelers are required to float; candidates should be prepared to follow the Methodist Floating Policy.
- Special Skills/Experience: Hemodynamic monitoring (swans, arterial lines), ventilator management, strong critical thinking skills.
- Procedures performed: Post-coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), post-ventricular assist device (VAD), post-catheterization with cardiac support devices such as IABP, Impella, and ECMO.
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Dress Code: Navy scrub top and pants; navy or white scrub jacket; neat and clean hair; body art and piercings to be covered according to guidelines.
- Additional Guidelines: Badge in/out required at shift start/end, full 30-minute lunch break, punctuality essential (clock-in at 6:38 or 6:45, tardy after 6:45).
