Job Summary
Endoscopy Technician position available in Rochester, Michigan. This role involves supporting endoscopic procedures by assisting physicians and nurses with pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient care. The technician will operate and troubleshoot endoscopic equipment, ensure proper disinfection, and support patient comfort and safety within a clinical setting.
Job Details
- Location: Rochester, MI
- Schedule: Rotating shift from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with on-call requirements including one weekend per month starting at 6:00 AM, and a 24-hour shift one week per month from 4:30 PM to 6:00 AM
- Required Qualifications: High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent; certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); minimum of 0 years of experience; familiarity with endoscopy equipment or scope/instrument reprocessing preferred
- Preferred Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program (CAAHEP/ABHES), Surgical Technician, or Emergency Medical Technician training; at least two years of healthcare exposure in a similar clinic setting
- Responsibilities include assisting with endoscopic procedures, equipment setup and troubleshooting, specimen collection and labeling, pre- and post-procedure endoscope cleaning, high-level disinfection, patient positioning, and monitoring vital signs during procedures.
- Additional skills required include handling specialized endoscopic accessories, troubleshooting various equipment, and supporting airway and patient positioning needs.
- The candidate must have experience in advanced procedures such as EBUS, bronchoscopy, and standard endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).
