Description
Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse in Mission Hills, California. This position involves providing specialized care to neonates, including preterm and critically ill infants, within a busy acute care hospital setting. The role requires clinical expertise in neonatal patient care and the ability to coordinate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12 hours shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience in neonatal or pediatric intensive care, current valid California license, BLS (Basic Life Support), and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications.
- Preferred Qualifications: Epic electronic charting system experience, prior NICU experience in a similar setting.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to transition between nursery and other neonatal units; such float duties involve caring for neonates post-delivery, including routine vitals, assessments, skin-to-skin contact, and breastfeeding support.
- Additional Information: This assignment is for a nursery role with responsibilities including routine baby care, vitals, assessments, and family support. The position starts as soon as possible, with a fixed start date of 08/03/2026. The hospital is an acute care facility with 377 beds, offering free parking onsite. Uniform color is flexible. The hospital provides various interdisciplinary support services.
- Other Details: Candidates must have at least 1 year of healthcare experience, possess a valid California license, and have completed all required modules related to neonatal care. Commitment to working 3 of 5 major holidays is required. Candidates must disclose prior employment at healthcare facilities, and references covering the last 3 years are required.
- RTO Policy and Additional Notes: RTO requests must be included at submission; extensions beyond 7 days may delay offers. All travelers are expected to float as needed within the state unless opted out, which may affect employment status.
