Description
Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurse position is available in a hospital setting located in Mission Hills, California. This role involves providing specialized care for preterm and ill newborns in a dedicated neonatal unit. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with multidisciplinary support, focusing on patient-centered care for neonatal patients.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: CA license in hand, minimum 0 years of experience, BLS, NRP certifications, LA Fire Card within the last 30 days, and at least 1 year of relevant experience in neonatal intensive care
- Patient Ratio Experience: 3
- Charting System Experience: Epic (preferred)
- Float: Nursery role and transition role; float rotation may be required, and "baby transition nurse" responsibilities include routine baby care, assessments, skin-to-skin, breastfeeding, and routine labs; may involve care for babies after the initial birth, including NICU-specific procedures and equipment
- Responsibilities: Care for neonates with various diagnoses such as prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, and others; use of specialized equipment including conventional and non-invasive ventilation, high-flow nasal cannula, and thermoregulation measures
- Additional Information: The position involves working at an acute care hospital with 377 staffed beds, offering free parking. The role requires working 3 of the 5 major holidays and includes orientation, with 36 hours of training prior to start. Candidates must be willing to float across facilities within the state and comply with all client policies, including specific RTO and background screening requirements.
