Description

Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a healthcare facility in Monroe, North Carolina. This role involves providing high-quality patient care for individuals with a variety of diagnoses including stroke, heart failure, and respiratory illnesses. The position requires adaptability to float within designated regions and the ability to manage complex clinical skills and critical care protocols.

Job Details:

  • Location: Monroe, North Carolina
  • Shift: Nights (12-hour shifts)
  • Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
  • Start Date: 07/27/2026
  • Certifications and Experience: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team requirement), 18 months of prior PCU RN experience, valid nursing license required.
  • Schedule: Weekend rotation every other weekend, no call, and working approximately 75% of holidays.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certification, at least 18 months of experience within the Progressive Care Unit, strong skills in Gtt management including critical care drips such as insulin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, Heparin, and blood products, as well as comprehensive PCU skills like stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, and drain management.
  • Support and Technology: Support from receptionists, charge nurses, resource nurses, hospitalists, intensivists, and virtual nurses available 24/7. Utilizes EPIC electronic medical records, Alaris IV pumps, and Phillips monitors.
  • Float Requirement: Floats as needed within designated regions including Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, and Central Division facilities; mid-shift floating compensation will be paid.
  • Orientation: Two days of departmental orientation prior to starting.
  • Additional Information: CNA ratios vary, operation of phlebotomy for peripheral blood draws only, and free parking available.
