Description
Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) registered nurse position located in Spokane, Washington. This role involves providing specialized care for neonatal patients in a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center within a short-term acute care facility. The position entails floating between units, working variable weekend shifts, and supporting a busy neonatal unit with a daily census of approximately 52 patients.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid Washington or Compact Registered Nurse license, at least 2 years of clinical experience including Neonatal Intensive Care Unit experience, current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications, recent bedside experience on the unit, and experience with charting system Epic.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing ventilators, arterial lines, and other advanced neonatal procedures.
- Special Requirements: The unit does not require coverage beyond the end of September. Candidate must have recent bedside experience in NICU, be willing to float between units, and follow all compliance documentation deadlines. References covering 1 year of recent clinical work are required.
- Additional Information: The role involves working in a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary support. Proper float rotation and adherence to schedule are mandatory, with no call-in allowed unless previously approved.
