Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical Orthopedic (MS ORTHO) Nurse is based at a healthcare facility in Athens, Texas. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for patients on an orthopedic surgical floor, including total joint replacements and trauma cases. The position requires a professional with clinical expertise in orthopedic trauma, medical-surgical nursing, and related procedures, working during night shifts.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 3x12 hour Nights, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid state or compact nursing license in hand at time of submittal; BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications; 2 years of experience as a nurse in a medical-surgical orthopedic environment; previous charge experience and travel experience preferred; proficiency in Epic electronic medical record system.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with trauma level II facilities, total joint replacements, and a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Additional Responsibilities: Managing ports, ventilator and respiratory care, wound management, central line blood draws, IV therapy, surgical drains, telemetry monitoring, and care for patients with traumatic brain injury, renal failure, spinal cord injury, and post-surgical patients.
• Additional Information: Must complete core onboarding items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing. Modules are conducted onsite during orientation and are non-billable hours. RTO must be listed at the time of submittal; previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler.
