Description

Job Summary
Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Springfield, Illinois. This role involves providing specialized care for surgical and neuro patients within a Level I trauma center. The candidate will deliver advanced clinical interventions and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM 7:15 AM) with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a current Illinois license, BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications. A minimum of 1 year of ICU experience is required, with experience managing neuro and trauma patients preferred.
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year in ICU surgical or neuro-critical care, including managing arterial lines, chest tubes, ventilators, and vasoactive medications.
  • Responsibilities: Includes managing ports, arterial lines, chest tubes, ventilators, central lines, IV sedation, neuro assessments, dysrhythmia interpretation, and administering emergency medications. Will assist with procedures such as chest tube insertion/removal, lumbar drains, and external ventricular drains.
  • Additional Requirements: Ability to float within scope to other ICUs when needed. Candidate must verify compliance documentation, including SSN and DOB, and confirm start date and RTO with the client. Candidate must be pre-closed at submission.
  • Location: 701 N 1st St, Springfield, IL 62781.
  • Other: Candidate must have active IL license in hand at time of application; no more than 5 non-holiday RTO days permitted; shared responsibilities include working two major holidays.
