Description

Job Summary:
Telemetry Medical Surgical Float Nurse position in Bismarck, North Dakota. This role involves providing patient care across multiple units, including cardiac telemetry, orthopedic, neuro, oncology, and overflow medical-surgical areas. The nurse will support a fast-paced environment, float between units as needed, and work scheduled nights.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week, every other weekend and holiday.
  • Required Qualifications: Active Basic Life Support (American Heart Association certification), North Dakota or compact state Registered Nurse license, strong Med Surg experience with a minimum of 2 years, at least 1 year recent Telemetry experience, Cardiac experience with IV start, dressing changes, and central line care.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic medical records systems such as EPIC, effective organizational skills for fast-paced units, and the ability to float between all units listed in the job description.
  • Additional Information: The role involves caring for post-cardiac cath patients, orthopedics/ joint patients, observation unit patients, general surgical/medical patients, stroke/neuro patients, and oncology patients. The nurse will also provide overflow care in nontraditional areas such as the emergency department and post-anesthesia care unit. The unit uses EPIC EMR and Acu-dose medication dispensing systems, and nurses will be trained through 2-3 shifts with a preceptor plus classroom training.
