Description
Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Float Nurse position in Fargo, North Dakota. This role involves providing care within a busy hospital setting, performing head-to-toe assessments, medication administration, care plan documentation, and wound, line, and drain care. The RN will float across various medical-surgical units, including specialty areas such as oncology, trauma, cardiac, neuro, and behavioral health, supporting a Level 2 trauma center with a bed capacity ranging from 24 to 47.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend and holiday, with minimum 48 hours per week. Shift times are days.
- Required Qualifications: Active North Dakota Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact state license, minimum of 1 year recent Medical Surgical (Med Surg) experience in a large hospital (250+ beds), BLS certification from the American Heart Association, EPIC electronic medical record experience, and EPIC experience is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Float pool experience in a busy hospital setting, experience working within a level 2 or higher trauma center, and prior float experience across Med Surg units.
- Additional Information: Willingness to float within Med Surg cluster and between campuses. Training includes one full shift on a Broadway Med Surg unit and one full shift on a South Medical Center Fargo Med Surg unit, with campus tours and team expectations provided during week one of employment. The facility spans multiple campuses including Broadway, South Medical Center Fargo, and South University.
- Location: 801 Broadway N, Fargo, North Dakota, 58102. Candidates must badge in and out at the facility.
- Travel Restrictions: No travelers living within a 60 mile radius of the facility will be considered. Local travel rates for those living 60 to 80 miles from the facility will be reduced by $8.00/hour.
- Additional Requirements: Must have a minimum of 2 years of recent experience. No first-time travelers, unless primary experience is in Resource Pool/Float Pool. Must be willing to work in a fast-paced hospital environment with procedures including assessments, medication administration, wound and line care, and documentation.
