Job Summary:
The healthcare professional specializing in Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (CCL) procedures is sought for a rotation at a facility in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This position involves assisting with various cardiac procedures, including heart catheterizations, percutaneous coronary interventions, pacemaker placements, and electrophysiology studies. The role requires hands-on experience in a cath lab setting and adherence to established clinical protocols.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 10-hour shifts, with varying start times (0530-1800), totaling a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Active American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications; valid RN license in a South Dakota or compact state; a minimum of 2 years of cath lab experience; graduation from a National League for Nursing (NLN) or American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) accredited nursing program is strongly preferred; graduation from an approved nursing program acceptable; Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with the specific procedures listed, familiarity with the equipment used in cath labs, and prior experience working with similar systems.
  • Additional Information: The orientation program spans 4-6 shifts, depending on experience, emphasizing charting and physician equipment protocols. The candidate must badge in and out at the facility, with a 30-minute response time for on-call duties; on-call duties are approximately once per week and every 3-4 weekends. The unit encompasses 8 fluoroscopy rooms and 2 procedural rooms, serving around 30 patients daily with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1. The facility utilizes systems including Epic, Pyxis, XIM, Xcelera, ultrasound, and Angiojets.
