Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse specializing in obstetric care is sought for a position in a healthcare facility located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The role involves providing comprehensive patient care to high-risk mothers and newborns, following evidence-based nursing practices, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The position emphasizes high-acuity obstetric services within a Level III Perinatal Center, requiring experience in high-risk maternal and neonatal care.
Job Details:
- Location: Milwaukee, WI
- Shift Time: Days
- Hours per week: Minimum of 36 hours
- Shift Hours: 12 hours per shift
- Start Date: 07/13/2026
- Qualifications: Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, with required certifications including BLS, NRP, and FHM.
- Certifications/Education: Valid RN license, BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring certification.
- Experience: At least 2 years of specialized labor and delivery experience in a Level III Perinatal Center.
- Schedule: No set schedule; must be available to work 7 days a week including every other weekend, with patterned scheduling not guaranteed.
- Responsibilities include fetal monitoring, maternal assessments, assisting with C-sections, postpartum care, and supporting high-risk mothers and newborns.
- Support on the unit includes charge nurse duties, clinical resource nurse, phlebotomy, certified nurse midwives, OBGYN providers, and OB anesthesia.
- Floats to other inpatient women's care units may be required initially.
- Orientation: Initial onboarding with the nurse manager, followed by training with a preceptor and buddy system.
