Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical Oncology Floor Nurse position is based in Des Moines, Iowa. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a Medical Surgical Oncology specialty setting, with an emphasis on specialized chemotherapy and infusion procedures. The position requires adherence to established protocols within a busy hospital environment and involves floating across units as necessary.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active Iowa nursing license, 12 years of experience in Medical Surgical and Oncology settings, at least 1 travel contract completed within the past 12 months, current American Heart Association or ARC/Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, 24 months of current Oncology or Medical Surgical experience evidenced in work history, skills specific to Oncology and Medical Surgical nursing, and documentation of Infusaport access experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Recent chemo experience, Oncology Certification (CHEMO / ONS / ONCC), EPIC electronic medical record experience, experience floating across multiple units, and familiarity with chemotherapy and infusion procedures.
• Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association or ARC/Red Cross).
• Location: 1200 PLEASANT ST, Des Moines, Iowa, 50309.
• The applicant must be eligible to work in the state of Iowa with an active licensure status.
• Orientation Date: 08/03/2026.
• Holiday work: Required to work 1-2 of the upcoming Summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day), unless the unit is closed.
• Experience: Minimum of 12 years in Medical Surgical and Oncology clinical settings.
• Additional Information: Candidate must have completed at least one travel assignment in the last 12 months, with a focus on Oncology and Medical Surgical specialties. Floating across campuses may be required with no specific drip/titration responsibilities.
