Job Summary
This position is for a Neuro Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) at a healthcare facility located in Illinois. The role involves providing specialized nursing care to neuro and neuro-surgical patients on a 22-bed neuro unit. The assignment is for nights, with a focus on critical assessments and patient management within a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Location: Marion, Illinois
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Start Date: 08/24/2026
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Shift Requirement: 12-hour nights
- Float Requirement: May float to the medical unit as needed
- Holiday Rotation: Every other holiday
- Required Certifications: Current active Illinois RN license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS
- Minimum Qualifications: Two years of strong Med Surg/Telemetry experience, including neuro, with at least one travel assignment; recent EPIC charting experience; neuro experience required
- Patient Population: Neuro and neuro-surgical patients including cerebrovascular accidents (CVAs), elective back/neck surgeries, cerebral angiograms
- Additional Skills: Comfortable managing medical overflow patients, strong assessment and critical thinking skills, NIHSS/dysphagia screening, basic tele interpretation, strict intake & output, straight catheterization, heparin titration, blood and blood product administration, venipuncture, blood cultures, NG tubes, drain management, stable medication gtts.
- Unit Information: 22-bed neuro unit with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4; charge nurse has patient assignments.
- Uniform: Navy Blue scrubs
- Covid-19 Vaccine: Not required (subject to change)
- Certifications: Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Interview Days: Monday through Friday, via manager phone interview or MSP interview
- Additional Notes: Candidate should be hardworking, resilient, adaptable to change, and socially engaged.
