Description
Job Summary:
This hospice nursing position is based in Vermont. The assignment spans approximately 13 to 16 weeks, providing an opportunity to deliver compassionate end-of-life care in a community hospice setting. The position involves providing patient care during the night shift, with a schedule of seven consecutive nights on and seven nights off, allowing for focused patient support and team collaboration.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift, Monday at 5:00 PM through the following Monday at 8:00 AM, with 7 nights on and 7 nights off.
- Required Qualifications: Valid AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; a minimum of 3 years of community hospice experience; strong typing skills for narrative-heavy electronic medical records; experience with hospice/end-of-life care, complex symptom management, education, symptom assessment, and critical thinking skills.
- Preferred Qualifications: Comfort initiating goals of care discussions, medication management (IV, subcutaneous, oral, sublingual, rectal, and other routes), and participating in team planning with patients and families.
- Experience: No minimum years of experience explicitly required beyond the 3 years specified for qualifying.
- Additional Information:
- This position is suitable for candidates with reliable transportation; personal or rental vehicles with all-season or snow tires are recommended during November through April.
- No block schedules are allowed.
- All employment history details, including bed count, electronic medical record system, and facility type, must be fully completed to submit.
- Covid and flu vaccination declinations are accepted with proof or declination documentation.
- Work hours are scheduled to total 36 hours per week, totaling approximately 72 hours per pay period.
