Description

Job Summary:
Certified Operating Room Technician (OR Tech) position is based in San Francisco, California. The role involves assisting in surgical procedures across various specialties, including cardiac, ophthalmology, robotic, orthopedic spine, and neurosurgery. The technician will support the surgical team by preparing instruments and ensuring operative standards are maintained to promote quality patient care.

Job Details:

Schedule: 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week, with start times ranging from 6:45 AM to 1:00 PM; weekends included in rotation; on-call required.
Required Qualifications: CST licensure (NBSTSA); BLS (AHA); HS Diploma, GED or equivalent; 0 years of experience required.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with vascular, transplant, ophthalmology, spine, robotic, cardiac surgeries, and relevant certifications such as AHA.
Additional Information: Role includes assisting in a variety of surgical procedures using advanced equipment such as the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, Ion, and Brainlab. Must be adaptable to a diverse patient demographic, supporting neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics across a daily census of 25 patients in a 12-room unit.
Facility & Patient Care Details: The unit supports interdisciplinary teams, including a unit secretary, and offers specialized procedures in cardiac, ophthalmology, robotic, ortho spine, neurosurgery, gynecology, general surgery, ENT, oral, transplants, and vascular surgeries.
Scheduling & Coverage: Staffing includes a daily patient ratio of 1:1 on days and nights, with weekend shifts every other weekend. No float or call coverage required.
