Job Summary:
The healthcare provider is seeking a Neuro Surgical Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a dayshift position at a healthcare facility in Newburgh, Indiana. This role involves caring for neuro and neuro-surgical patients, including those with cerebrovascular accidents, elective back/neck surgeries, post-operative cranial procedures, and cerebral angiograms. The RN will be responsible for clinical assessments, neuro assessments, medication administration, and critical thinking in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Job Details:

• Location: Newburgh, Indiana
• Shift: 12-hour days, 6:30 AM 7:00 PM
• Schedule: 36 hours guaranteed per week; flexibility for 48-hour shifts upon request
• Start Date: 07/20/2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks with weekly or bi-weekly orientations in July
• Required Qualifications: Must have a current active compact license, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS). Minimum of two years of robust neuro nursing experience, including trauma level II experience and a previous travel assignment. Recent Electronic Medical Record (EPIC) charting experience is required, with a checkoff class needed.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with NIHSS/dysphagia screening, neuro assessments, tele-interpretation, and critical thinking skills. Strong assessment skills and resilience are highly valued.
• Float Requirement: First float to within applicable skillset; cross-campus floating to other facilities with two hours notice expected.
• On-Call/Call Back Requirement: Not applicable
• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends every six weeks and every other holiday.
