Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Step Down Unit in Omaha, Nebraska. The position involves providing high-acuity patient care in a 28-bed unit, supporting adult patients with diagnoses including oncology and trauma. This role requires adaptability, teamwork, and commitment to quality patient care on night shifts.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week, starting 08/03/2026
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, at least 2 years of experience in a similar acute care setting, BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), oncology and trauma experience preferred, 1-year minimum charge nurse experience required, Driver's license needed at submission, and COVID-19 vaccination as applicable.
- Preferred Qualifications: Chemotherapy certification (preferred but not required), EPIC EMR experience within the last 6 months is advantageous.
- Float: Float may be required to medial/surgical and PCU units, supporting various adult patient populations.
- Additional Information:
- Must pass a skill exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%.
- Artificial nails are prohibited.
- Experience with ventilators and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, Aline, Swan, EV-1000, ICP) is preferred, with training provided if necessary.
- Patient care includes titratable and set-rate drips such as insulin, heparin, and cardizem.
- Orientation will be approximately 2 days.
- The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration with PT/OT, RN case managers, social work, educators, and dieticians.
- RTO requests of 7 days or fewer must be explicitly approved at submission.
- Candidates with recent EPIC EMR experience or previous employment with the organization are preferred.
