Description

Job Summary:

The Lynchburg, Virginia location is seeking a Med Surg Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift position on the medical surgical floor. This role involves providing care to a diverse patient population, including those with gastrointestinal, respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and vascular conditions. The RN will participate in orientation sessions scheduled for 07/27/2026 and 08/10/2026, with orientation occurring every other Monday. The position requires prior travel experience and entails charge responsibilities with appropriate training and pay differential. The typical patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:6, and ancillary support such as lab draws, EKGs, and supply management is available.

  • Certifications, Education, and Experience: Valid nursing license, minimum of 2 years of work history with travel experience in similar roles, skills checklist, and possession of current Nursys/license.
  • Additional Information: The role involves working in a teaching hospital environment with frequent encounters with students and new hires. All team members are expected to foster a supportive culture, especially when interacting with new staff and students. Cerner experience is preferred. Travelers may be asked to float to sister campuses. All RTO requests must be included in the submission packet; client may cancel assignments up to 36 hours prior due to census fluctuations. Local candidates are now accepted.
  • Travel Requirements: Travel is required for this position, with potential float to other campuses.
