Description
Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) in San Francisco, California. This position involves providing specialized surgical support within the cardiovascular operating room for a healthcare provider. The role requires coordination with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care during complex cardiac procedures.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, minimum of two years of cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) experience, California RN license in hand
- Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Certified Functional Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification, hybrid operating room experience (8/10 modification date)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CNOR
- Travel Experience Required: No
- Special Procedures/Unit Details: Expertise in complex cardiovascular surgeries including Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm repair, Aortocaval fistula repair, Aortoenteric fistula repair, Arteriovenous fistula repair, Atherectomy, Cardiothoracic robotic surgery, Carotid artery procedures, coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), Endovascular aneurysm repair, Thoracic and vascular surgeries, and use of robotic surgical systems.
- Additional Information: Orientation hours total 72, with start date on 08/18/2026. Limited float flexibility to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius may be required. Must have previous charge nurse experience and familiarity with Epic charting system.
- Submittal Requirements: Valid references and proof of California RN license and BSN are required at the time of submission. Employment history with UC medical facilities must be included if applicable.
- Start Date: 08/18/2026
- Other Notes: RTO requests must be disclosed at submittal and are subject to approval; no requests accepted after contract commencement unless approved. Orientation registration is scheduled at 4:00 pm PST on the Monday prior to the start date.
