Job Summary:
The organization is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) position in Baltimore, Maryland. The role involves providing specialized patient care in a rapidly evolving clinical environment, with responsibilities focused on patient stabilization, monitoring, and supporting recovery processes. This position is ideal for an RN with a strong foundation in critical care settings seeking to contribute to a dynamic healthcare team.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 07/20/2026.
- Required Qualifications: RN License, Basic Life Support (BLS), strong experience in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) specifically, at least 2 years of current ICU experience with post-surgical and trauma patients, involving procedures such as transplant, vascular, gastrointestinal, orthopedic/neuro spine surgeries, and general surgery.
- Preferred Qualifications: Critical Care Certification, trauma course, Electronic Health Record (EHR) system proficiency in EPIC, and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Additional Information: Candidate must have previous Surgical ICU experience and be adaptable to float as needed within areas requiring similar skill sets. The position involves working 3 out of 6 weekends per 6-week rotation, with availability for two on-call shifts during the schedule, and coverage during holidays as needed. Orientation sessions are scheduled during the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month. Candidates must disclose any prior employment within any Johns Hopkins Health System facilities to verify rehire eligibility.
