Description

Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse position in Yakima, Washington. This role requires providing specialized care for neonates ranging from 26 weeks gestation and higher in a level III NICU setting. The position involves working with complex respiratory equipment and supporting critically ill infants, ensuring quality patient care across designated shifts.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Day shifts from 07:00 to 19:30 and 19:00 to 07:30, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); Washington state or compact license; a minimum of 3 years of experience in neonatal or pediatric critical care; proficiency in intravenous therapy, assisting with central line placements (UAC, PICC, UVC), ventilator management, and neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) care.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with Bubble Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), high flow nasal cannula, NeoPuff; strong pediatric experience; first-time travelers with significant NICU background are encouraged to apply.
  • Patient Types: Infants 26 weeks gestation and higher, utilizing Bubble CPAP and ventilators but no oscillators.
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1 to 3:1 depending on acuity.
  • EMR: Epic.
  • Float: Mother Baby or other units as needed, including 1:1s or Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS).
  • Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend as required.
  • On-Call: Not required.
  • Additional Information: This is a non-profit community hospital with 226 beds, including a 15-bed level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Scrub attire: navy blue provided; travelers may wear their own within OR guidelines.
