Description
Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse position in Tacoma, Washington. This role involves providing specialized care to neonatal patients in a Level IV NICU within a pediatric hospital setting. The ideal candidate will possess experience in respiratory support, trachs, g-tubes, NG/OG, NCPAP, UAC/UVC management, PICC lines, medication administration, and care planning for high-risk newborns.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); Washington state nursing license; 2 years of neonatal ICU experience with Level III-IV NICU.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with trachs, surgical patients, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), and EMR proficiency in EPIC.
- Floating: Possible to emergency room as a sitter, but infrequent.
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend, with occasional back-to-back weekends.
- Start Date: 08/10/2026.
- Additional Information: The NICU is part of a Level II children's hospital attached to an adult hospital, with private rooms and high-risk labor and delivery services. Consideration for first-time travelers is available; travel experience is strongly preferred. Block scheduling may be offered but is not guaranteed.
