Job Summary:
Operating Room (First Assistant) in Santa Maria, California. This role involves supporting the surgical team in the OR suite, with a focus on laparoscopic, bariatrics, orthopedic, neuro, uro, gynecology, and ENT cases. The position requires flexibility on shift times and includes call responsibilities, with a commitment to providing high-quality perioperative care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 10-hour days, minimum of 40 hours per week, starting on 07/27/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA); Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) certification via the Certification Corporation for Operating Room First Assistant role; valid license to submit; minimum of 2 years of experience.

- Float: Float rotation may be required for pre-operative/post-operative duties.
- Additional Information:
- Unit: Operating Room with 7 suites and approximately 18-20 cases per day.
- Certified Surgical Technologists (CST) preferred for tech roles.
- Ratios: 1:1 or 2:1 depending on case complexity.
- EMR System: Cerner.
- Charge Nurse presence: Yes.
- Call responsibilities: RN and CST staff required to respond within 30 minutes, with some nights and weekends.
- Holidays: Yes.
- Scrub Color/Provided: Scrubs provided.
- Telemetry: Phillips ventilators present.
- On-call hours: 24/7 for surgeon on-call, with night and weekend call shifts (2, 12-hour shifts per month).
- Shifts: Variable (8 or 10 hours).
