Job Summary:
The Post Partum Floor nursing position is based in Irvine, California. The role involves providing specialized care on the postpartum unit, supporting maternal and newborn health, and performing all duties in accordance with facility protocols. The position is designed for experienced healthcare professionals committed to delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per day, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications:
  • 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • License, Certification, Registration: Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided), Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (ANRP)
  • Demonstrated ability to perform electronic fetal monitoring
  • Demonstrated IV skills and ability to perform lab draws
  • Demonstrated knowledge of high-risk medication administration (Magnesium, Oxytocin, Insulin)
  • Demonstrated ability to perform urine Point of Care testing
  • Demonstrated knowledge of capillary blood glucose testing
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IStat device
  • Demonstrated ability to perform adult cardiac monitoring
  • Demonstrated knowledge of newborn monitors including pulse oximetry and cardiac monitoring
  • Demonstrated ability to perform heel sticks/venipuncture on newborns
  • Demonstrated knowledge of newborn medication, including IV administration and maintenance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Bili-blankets/lights and radiant warmers
  • Demonstrated knowledge to support gynecology teaching and post-operative bladder training
  • Demonstrated knowledge to support maternal-newborn teaching
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in nursing or related field
  • Minimum three (3) years of labor and delivery experience
  • Minimum three (3) years of postpartum nursing experience
  • Minimum one (1) year of medical/surgical nursing experience
