Job Summary:
The operating room technician (ORT) position is based in a healthcare facility located in San Diego, California. This role involves providing specific patient care duties and supporting unit activities within the operating room suite. The position requires expertise in orthopedic, neurological, and robotic surgical procedures, with a focus on maintaining high standards of regulatory compliance and clinical excellence.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Evenings shift with a start time of 10:30 AM. The shift length is 12 hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Minimum of high school education preferred. Certified or demonstrated technical skills through approved operating room technician program or on-the-job training. Certification as a Scrub Technician is preferred. BLS certification for Healthcare providers is required. Must have orthopedic, neuro, and robotic experience. Travel experience is necessary.
• Preferred Qualifications: Approved program for Operating Room Technicians or demonstrated technical skills through on-the-job training. Additional certifications such as Scrub Tech Certification are preferred.
• Additional Skills: Knowledge of patient care, operating room procedures, regulatory compliance, TB testing, safety testing, compliance training, HIPAA training, licensing and certification, knowledge of dressings and cast application, physician preference card management, instrument tray accountability, count policies and procedures, problem solving, teaching, orthopedic experience, neuro experience, robotic experience.
• Experience: Minimum of three years as a scrub person in a hospital setting. No minimum experience stated in the job order but the candidate must meet the clinical skill requirements.
• On Call: 12 hours weekend and 20 hours weekday of on-call duty within a 4-week period, with a 30-minute response time. Weekend call is in addition to scheduled weekend shifts. Scheduled two shifts every other weekend.
• Schedule Notes: 10:30 AM start time. Must have orthopedic, neuro, and robotic experience.

• Certifications: Scrub Tech Certification preferred; BLS certification required.
