Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Peoria, Illinois. This role involves providing acute care for a variety of patients with diverse diagnoses in a hospital setting. The RN will work rotational shifts, including evenings and weekends, and will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Twelve-hour shifts (7:00 p.m. 7:00 a.m.) with weekend and holiday rotation; minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN); Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license active or with confirmation that application has been initiated; BLS certification (American Heart Association); minimum of 1 year of hospital experience preferred.
• Department: Medical Surgical Acute Care with 18 beds, mostly private rooms.
• Patient Ratios: 4-5 patients per nurse during day shift, 5-6 during night shift; two Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) per shift.
• Responsibilities and Duties: Provide medication titrations such as Heparin; utilize telemetry monitors primarily from Phillips brand via house-wide telemetry; perform patient assessments; participate in call and float requirements; assist with IV starts and blood draws as needed.
• Additional Information: Travel RNs are expected to float as needed, with one 12-hour orientation shift; hospital operates 24/7 RT, pharmacy, and intensivist/hospitalist staff; scrubs are to be provided by staff in any color, no pediatric scrubs permitted.
