Description
Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Renton, Washington. This role involves caring for extremely premature and premature patients, with a focus on neonates with various critical conditions. The position requires expertise in neonatal respiratory support and complex medication management, working in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 3-12 hour shifts per week, with a start date of 07/20/2026, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, minimum of 2 years of NICU experience, certified in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Basic Life Support (BLS), with current credentials. Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Record system is mandatory. Ability to care for gestations down to 32 weeks or greater than 1500 grams. Proficiency in using NC, High-Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), Neural Adaptive Ventilation (NAVA), and conventional ventilator equipment. Skilled in managing titratable drips including blood pressure medications, TPN, Dextrose 10% (D10), and insulin.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with bedside monitoring, including reading strips, and ability to float to pediatric units caring for NICU graduates and behavioral health patients.
- Additional Information: The unit requires attention to facility-specific protocols, including strict adherence to note that the client will not accept any travelers with license issues related to medication diversion and endangerment. Neonatologists are available 24/7, with no nurse aides on the unit. The staffing includes bedside nurses and charge nurses, with a high acuity patient population.
- Certifications: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and BLS.
- Shift Notes: Shifts run from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
- CT: Nurses read strip monitors, and tele monitor technology is used on the unit.
- Floats: May float to pediatric units caring for patients until 12 months of age or serve as a 1:1 sitter for behavioral health patients.
