Description
Job Summary:
Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in adult medical-surgical rehabilitation on a unit focused on Stroke and Brain Injury patients. The position involves providing patient care during rotating shifts, including evenings and nights, with occasional weekend work, supporting patients with neuro diagnoses such as MS and Parkinson's, as well as musculoskeletal disorders post-surgery. This role requires competency in various clinical skills to support patient recovery and rehabilitation goals.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12-hour evenings and nights (7 p.m. 7 a.m.) on weekdays, with 8-hour shifts from 3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. every other weekend. Minimum hours per week: 36.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, completion of MGB resume and skills checklist, professional verification, and references.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC documentation, competency in PICC line care and blood draws, IV antibiotics, TPN, tube feeding (NGT, G-tube, GJ-tube), EKG, wound care (vac and simple dressings), Foley catheter and intermittent catheterization, bladder irrigation, trach care, blood transfusion, ostomy and drain care (JP drain), restraints, and unit-specific patient care procedures.
- Additional Information: The role is based in a 30-bed adult rehab unit with private rooms, specializing in stroke and brain injury patients, with potential care for patients with neuro and musculoskeletal diagnoses requiring rehabilitation.
