Description
Job Summary:
A Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) is needed for a healthcare facility in Garden City, Kansas. The position involves night shifts and requires providing specialized care for obstetric patients within a hospital setting. The role supports the units commitment to patient safety and quality care, following established clinical guidelines and protocols.
Job Details:
- Location: Garden City, Kansas
- Schedule: Night shifts, 11.5 hours per shift, minimum of 34.5 hours per week
- Start Date: 07/27/2026
- Required Qualifications: ACLS (American Heart Association), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), BLS (American Heart Association), Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, current license to submit, and must follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with LDRP, couplet care, circulating in obstetric operating rooms, and experience working with fetal monitoring systems such as GE and OBIX.
- Unit Details:
- Unit based on Labor and Delivery with 12 LDRP rooms or suites for C-sections, 1 triage bed, and 1 postpartum bed
- Average births per month: 50-60, approximately 1.5/day
- In-house OB/Neonatologist and anesthesia services are not available 24/7
- No RT equipment needed; fetal monitoring via EFM system (GE and OBIX)
- Floating between L&D, postpartum, and mother-baby units as needed
- Will float to other units and help as required; potential to be on call up to 3 times per contract period
- Shift notes include assisting with hands-on care, floating, and coverage for various obstetric needs, with a requirement to help with other units as needed and potential on-call duties
- Additional Information:
- Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
- Orientation includes 1-2 shifts specific to the unit.
- Scrub colors/dress code are professional colors.
- Charting system used is EPIC.
