Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical Floor (MS) registered nurse position is located in Boise, Idaho. This role involves providing care on a med-surg unit that features a variety of patient types, including bariatric surgery, urology, colorectal, vascular, gynecological, plastic surgery, and medical patients. The position offers 12-hour shifts and requires dedicated team members to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced acute care setting.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with weekends and holidays as needed, and floating to similar units at local hospitals.
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS certification; minimum of 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience; proficiency in central line care, NG tube management, ostomies, drain management, and professional communication skills. Experience with CVADs (central venous access devices) and Foley management is preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with CPAP, high flow, and BiPAP equipment; ability to read telemetry strips.
• Float: Floating to like units within local hospitals (Meridian Medical Center and Nampa Medical Center) may be required. Travelers are the first to float.
• Additional Information: The unit is a center of excellence for bariatric surgery with a diverse patient population. Orientation includes one unit-specific shift plus a didactic day with an educator. The facility adheres to a 50-mile radius rule, and candidates' permanent addresses must be within this radius to qualify.
