Description
Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse in Prescott Valley, Arizona. This position involves providing acute care in a Level 4 trauma Emergency Department that handles a variety of cases including trauma, stroke, cardiac events, and minor emergencies. The role requires critical thinking and bedside skills in a fast-paced environment, with responsibilities spanning patient assessment, emergency interventions, and collaboration with hospital staff in both east and west Emergency Departments.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 07/27/2026
- Required Qualifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC certifications; Arizona state nursing license; at least 2 years of Emergency Department experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in trauma, critical care, conscious sedation, and managing common diagnoses such as CP, abdominal pain, minor trauma, and respiratory distress
- Float: Float rotation may be required between east and west Emergency Departments
- Additional Information:
- Unit features 24 beds, 4 critical care rooms, 2 seclusion rooms, and a dedicated triage area
- Patient handling includes RN to patient ratios of 1:4 in general ED, 1:2 or 1:1 depending on acuity
- ED staffing includes one MD 24/7, 1-2 mid-level providers during peak hours, charge nurses and house supervisors on duty
- Medications and critical drips managed via ED physicians and mid-levels
- RT available 24/7 for intubation, vent setup, and breathing treatments; RNs troubleshoot equipment with RT support
- Infection control and clinical responsibilities involve phlebotomy, wound care, splinting, and transport
- Charting performed using Cerner system
- Hospital orientation includes two days of general training plus one shift at each ED with a mentor
