Description

Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) in Nampa, Idaho. This position involves providing comprehensive care for patients in the Labor and Delivery unit, including attending deliveries, postpartum and antepartum care, and triage. The role demands adherence to established staffing standards and clinical protocols, with a focus on patient safety and quality care across a diverse patient population.

Job Details

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with weekends as needed; minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid licensure to practice as a registered nurse; Certifications including ACLS, BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and STABLE; at least 1 year of labor and delivery experience; mother-baby care experience preferred; experience with magnesium administration and attending deliveries; charge nurse or leadership experience preferred
  • Responsibilities: Provide patient-centered care for women in labor, including supporting deliveries, postpartum couples, and triage, with responsibilities spanning circulating C-sections, newborn care, and medication administration including titratable drips such as Pitocin, Magnesium, and occasionally insulin
  • Additional Information: Must be comfortable with staffing standards in accordance with AWHONN guidelines, including patient ratios and responsibilities; float to multiple sites in the Treasure Valley area; participate in unit orientation; comply with hospital dress code and no-fingernail lacquer policy; travel duos require two vehicles; shift coverage may involve helping with breaks and assisting in deliveries; unit has in-house OB hospitalist and Neonatal Nurse Practitioner available 24/7; equipment troubleshooting for respiratory therapy available; no minimum holiday or call requirements; float and coverage to various sites as needed.
