Job Summary:
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Float RN position in Oak Lawn, Illinois. This role involves providing specialized critical care support within a busy PICU environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure exceptional patient outcomes. The position requires a dedicated registered nurse with pediatric intensive care experience and a strong focus on patient safety and quality care.

Job Details:

  • Location: Oak Lawn, Illinois
  • Position: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Float Registered Nurse
  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Illinois Registered Nurse (IL RN) license, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) RN experience of at least 2 years, Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); previous travel experience is not required
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with respiratory, congenital heart disease, hematology/oncology, post-operative, and trauma patient types; prior travel experience is highly preferred but not mandatory
  • Patient Care Responsibilities: Support patient admissions and discharges, assist with high-touch cleaning, and provide direct patient care in a collaborative team setting
  • Department Support: CNA assistance for room preparation, high-touch cleaning, and patient care; available support staff include receptionists, charge nurses, phlebotomists, IV team, resource nurses, and telemetry technicians; 24/7 available staff such as RTs, hospitalists, and intensivists
  • Technology and Equipment: Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Alaris intravenous (IV) pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing system, Med Sonic monitors
  • Orientation: New hire orientation includes Neonatal Emergency Obstetric (NEO) training and two departmental days in PICU
  • Attire: Navy scrubs, free parking
