Job Summary:
This is a Nursing position specializing in Medical Surgical Orthopedic care located in Peoria, Illinois. The role involves providing high-quality post-operative and general medical surgical nursing to a diverse patient population on an orthopedic unit. The position requires clinical expertise in orthopedic surgical care and patient management within an acute care setting.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Illinois license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated; BLS certification (AHA); minimum of 2 years of clinical experience; active IL license or confirmation that application process has been initiated; last four digits of clinician's SSN; clinician's middle initial; requested time off; and understanding that the facility is a Drug-Free Campus requiring negative drug screens for all panels
• Department: Orthopedic
• Beds: 43 private rooms
• Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 on day shifts, 1:5-6 on night shifts
• Duties: Management of wide variety of medical surgical and postoperative orthopedic cases, trauma cases with fractures; troubleshooting equipment like CPAP, heated high flow; reading telemetry strips from house-wide Phillips monitors; supporting patient care with nurse aides at ratios of 1:7-8
• Certifications: BLS (AHA)
• Experience: Must have at least 2 years of clinical experience
• Floating: Travel RNs are the first to float if needed, occasionally to other similar medical-surgical floors
• Dress Code: Any color scrubs; professional appearance; tattoos and piercings must be covered
• Orientation: Two days of department-specific orientation
• Other Notes: No call or standby requirements; weekend schedule includes every other Saturday/Sunday day and Friday/Saturday night shifts; no telemetry or monitor tech requirements beyond troubleshooting; shifts are 12 hours for travel staff; no charge nurse or house supervisor taking assignments; orientation hours are non-billable; shifts start in August 2026
