Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse position in Peoria, Illinois. This role involves providing care to general medical patients in a busy acute care unit. The nurse will be responsible for delivering safe, effective patient care, adhering to department protocols, and collaborating with interdisciplinary team members during night shifts.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license or confirmation that application has been initiated, at least 1 year of experience in medical-surgical nursing, BLS certification (AHA).
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with general medical patients, strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Float: Travel RNs are prioritized for floating, otherwise float rotation applies.
• Additional Information:
  • Department: Medical Acute Care Unit with 20 beds.
  • Patient ratios: 1:4/5 on night shift, 1:6/7 on days.
  • Role includes collaboration with charge nurses and house supervisors who do not typically take patient assignments; nurse aides and telemetry techs are present 24 hours.
  • Telemetry monitoring is available; bedside RNs do not read strips.
  • Unit-specific orientation provided over 3 days.
  • Requirements include shift work, every other weekend, and 3 of 6 holidays.
