Description
Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Payson, Utah. This role involves providing specialized care to neonatal patients in a Level 2 NICU setting with a focus on supporting babies with conditions such as CPAP therapy, UVC placement, and high flow oxygen. The position requires collaboration within a small, close-knit team dedicated to delivering high-quality neonatal care.
Job Details:
- Location: Payson, Utah
- Shift Schedule: Nights, 12 hours per shift
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 48 hours
- Start Date: 08/03/2026
- Required Qualifications: Valid Utah nursing license, a minimum of 2 years experience in a hospital setting, Certifications in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), STABLE, and CPR; must be able to take CPAP babies, perform UVC insertions, handle Hi Flow oxygen, and IVs.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a Level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and mother-baby care experience.
- Patient Care Responsibilities: Management of CPAP babies, UVC placements, Hi Flow oxygen, IV insertions, surfactant administration, and chest tube management.
- Unit Specifics: Small NICU with 5 beds, including one negative pressure room, handling 30-40 deliveries per month, with a strong team aligned with women's services. No ventilators are used in this NICU; transfer of vented infants occurs if necessary.
- Certifications Required: NRP, STABLE, CPR
- Dress Code: Wine-colored scrubs (uniform provided on the unit)
- Additional Information: The unit has won recognition as a Womens Services Department of Distinction for three years. Nurses enjoy a supportive environment with relatively low turnover and regular delivery volume. The team occasionally works in mother-baby and labor, postpartum units, and catch transition babies at delivery.
