Description

Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a qualified Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) in Orange, California. This position involves providing high-acuity patient care within a dynamic ICU setting, with the flexibility to float between units as needed. The role offers an opportunity to work in a Magnet-recognized acute care hospital, involving complex patient management and collaborative interdisciplinary support.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse license in hand, minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience, certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS), and at least 2 years of patient ratio, charting (Epic), and ICU experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred.
  • Floats: Float rotation to medical-surgical or Neuro ICU units may be required.
  • Additional Information:
    • Start date: 07/28/2026
    • Unit features include 20 beds, daily census of 18 patients, and Interdisciplinary support teams such as respiratory therapy, radiology, and pharmacy.
    • Patient diagnoses managed include respiratory failure, pneumonia, sepsis, stroke, acute myocardial infarction, and multi-system organ failure.
    • Procedures and equipment used encompass intra-aortic balloon pump, ventricular assist devices, external pacemakers, ICP monitoring, and continuous renal replacement therapy, among others.
    • Must be willing to work 3 of the 5 major holidays and meet scheduling requests from the manager.
    • Local radius is 50 miles; candidates within this range are considered local.
    • Candidates must have at least 1 year of travel or hospital experience and be able to submit references covering the past 3 years.
    • This position requires compliance with facility policies including background checks, license verification, and fire safety card.
    • Travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may impact employment conditions.
