Description

Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position available in SILVERDALE, Washington. This role involves providing care in a busy trauma-centered department with a focus on cardiac, stroke, sepsis, and mental health patients. The ER unit features specialized trauma bays, a separate triage area, and designated patient holding beds, supporting a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

  • Position: ER Nurse
  • Location: SILVERDALE, Washington
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, days, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications in ACLS, BLS, TNCC, PALS or ENPC; License to submit; willing to wait for license; minimum of 2 years of experience in a larger trauma setting; no specific experience requirement listed otherwise.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing cardiac and stroke patients, familiarity with Epic electronic medical records system, and experience drawing blood samples.
  • Unit Details:
    • Bed capacity: approximately 56 beds, including trauma bays and triage areas
    • Separate triage with 5 beds; possible patient assignment for travelers
    • 18 beds designated for holding inpatients awaiting bed placement
    • Locked hall with 6 private seclusion/treatment rooms
    • Patient volume: approximately 170-200 patients per day
    • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3, possibly 1:4 for low-acuity patients
    • In-house security available
  • Staffing & Operations:
    • Emergency Physicians and Mid-Levels in place
    • Charge Nurses and House Supervisors available
    • ED Techs, CNAs, and Nurse Aids provide support, including 1:1 sitters
    • RTs manage ventilator equipment and perform ABGs; ED Techs operate EKGs
    • Radiology department adjacent; patient transport assistance available
    • Lab personnel primarily draw blood, with assistance when needed
  • Shift & Scheduling: Based on department needs, with existing patterns for travelers; every other weekend work; holiday work required in November/December; no on-call or standby required; no float requirement; uniform in professional colors.
  • Orientation: 1 day compliance training plus 2 days department orientation, totaling approximately 20 hours.
  • Additional Notes: No RTO (Request To Off) will be considered for the first full week of assignment; hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts on a 13-week assignment.
  • Shift Timing: 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM; every other week.
