Description

Job Summary
The organization is seeking a Postpartum Floor Nurse for a facility located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This role involves floating shifts within the postpartum unit, providing care to patients recovering from vaginal deliveries, C-section deliveries, and postpartum complications. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment supporting new mothers and newborns.

Job Details

  • Shift: Rotating shifts, with a focus on a 12-hour schedule
  • Schedule: Floating; must work every other weekend and every other major holiday
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license with active or conditional status, current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications, up-to-date resume demonstrating at least one year of postpartum experience, current drivers license matching demographic address, familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, and acute care experience
  • Preferred Qualifications: Lactation certification, travel experience, proficiency with electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) and specialty equipment such as Welch Allyn blood pressure devices, Nihon Khoden, venodynm machine, IV pump, panda warmer, and Medela breast pump; recent Charge Nurse or supervisory references
  • Additional Information: Scrubs are provided, and hospital-wide orientation (3 days) plus additional unit-specific training (3 days) will be conducted. Candidates must be willing to work in a fast-paced postpartum setting handling patients with postpartum hemorrhage, magnesium therapy, and other postpartum needs. No on-call duties are required, although volunteers may cover shifts if needed. Submission should include current NURSYS verification of Massachusetts RN license, a skills checklist, and reference contacts. RTO requests must be indicated at submission.
