Description

Job Summary:
The healthcare professional specializing in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) at a facility in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, is responsible for providing patient care on a rotating shift basis. This role involves managing stable patients with conditions such as sepsis, trauma, GI bleed, and stroke, often requiring skills in telemetry, chest tubes, and other critical interventions. The position supports the unit's focus on trauma and specialty care, with a need for independently managing tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The shift rotation occurs every week or every two weeks.
  • Required Qualifications: Wisconsin or compact RN license, BLS, ACLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross certifications), Associate Degree or Certificate, at least 2 years of experience in Stepdown, Intermediate Care (IMCU), or Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Epic charting experience preferred.
  • Float: Float to all inpatient units as needed; potential to float to additional units, including Wisconsin Rapids, Plover, and Divine Savior.
  • Additional Information:
    • The position involves assisting with stable patient care, including but not limited to sepsis management, trauma, GI bleed, and stroke.
    • The unit is a 23-bed Medical Surgical Intermediate Care Unit with a patient ratio of 4:1.
    • No guaranteed GSA hours during orientation; guaranteed set hours weekly except during holidays when the unit is closed.
    • Travelers may be placed on call for low census hours; call back pay applies if summoned.
    • All travelers must comply with flu and COVID vaccination policies requiring masks during flu season.
    • Scrub color can be any color.
