Description
Job Summary:
A registered nurse (RN) specializing in the step-down unit located in Council Bluffs, Iowa. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, managing complex cases such as heart failure, atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, and stroke. The position is scheduled for night shifts and requires the ability to interpret telemetry strips, titrate drips, and work effectively within a collaborative team.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, located within 50 miles of the facility. Candidates must pass a pass/fail exam on orientation day with a score of 90% and have a valid drivers license.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in step-down or cardiac step-down units, proficiency with telemetry monitoring and reading strips, experience with titratable drips such as Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin.
- Responsibilities: Managing a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4, overseeing cardiac drips, troubleshooting CPAP equipment, and interpreting telemetry strips. Charge nurses will take full patient assignments and support team collaboration.
