Job Summary

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Kansas City, Kansas. This 13-week assignment offers an excellent opportunity for experienced RNs to provide high-quality patient care in a specialized setting. The role involves supervising nursing staff, performing assessments, and contributing to patient safety and recovery.

Job Details

Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours shift hours, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification prior to first shift, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification prior to first shift (if applicable), minimum of 2 years bedside clinical experience, previous experience in a similar setting highly desired
Responsibilities include performing patient assessments within 8 hours of admission, developing and updating individualized care plans, facilitating patient education, and documenting all care activities accurately in the medical record
Participates in patient rehabilitation programs, initiates discharge planning from the day of admission, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
Provides direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, delegates tasks appropriately, and maintains communication with management regarding supplies, equipment, and training needs
Assumes charge responsibility after orientation, promotes a safe environment, and engages in ongoing professional development
