Description

Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse in Bakersfield, California. This role involves independently providing advanced nursing care to critically ill neonatal patients in an acuity-focused environment. The nurse will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care within the scope of the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards and the California Nurse Practice Act, ensuring safe and compassionate care for neonatal patients.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid and unrestricted State of California Registered Nurse (RN) license; Bachelors or Associate degree from an accredited nursing program; minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience; knowledge and experience with Cerner electronic medical record (EMR); current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider: Basic Life Support (BLS); advanced neonatal resuscitation program (Advanced NRP).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit; additional neonatal care certifications are advantageous.
  • Additional Information: The role requires flexibility to float as needed within the facility. Candidates must possess strong skills in patient assessment, nursing care coordination, use of medical instruments and equipment, medication administration, nursing judgment, infection control protocols, emergency protocol activation, collaborative care planning, adherence to therapeutic standards, and evidence-based practices.
