Description

Job Summary:
Certified Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Ketchum, Idaho. This role involves providing patient care in a perioperative care environment, including pre-op, PACU (phase 1 and phase 2), pre-Endo, and post-Endo areas. The position requires adherence to ASPAN guidelines and supports a team-based approach with a focus on surgical recovery and patient safety.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, start times between 6:00 am and 8:00 am, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice nursing, ACLS, PALS, BLS certifications, and a minimum of 2 years of recent PACU experience. Experience with Phase 1 postoperative recovery is essential.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with general surgical recovery, PACU, and inpatient nursing may be considered. First-time travelers are welcome. Limited Endoscopy experience is acceptable.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to cover pre-op, PACU (phase 1 and phase 2), pre-Endo, and post-Endo areas as needed.
  • Additional Information: The unit has a patient-to-nurse ratio following ASPAN guidelines. The team includes two certified nursing assistants (CNAs) who assist with room turnover and patient care tasks. There is no ICU recovery; patients requiring higher-level care or ventilation are transferred to other units or providers until transport. The facility employs Epic for charting. Orientation includes 3-5 shifts with a preceptor. The radius rule is 50 miles; candidates must reside outside this distance for consideration. On-call duties are scheduled from 6:00 pm to 7:00 am on weeknights, with a 30-minute response time. Weekend and holiday call duties are also required on a rotation basis.
