Description

Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Float at a healthcare facility located in Portland, Maine. This position involves providing advanced patient care within various ICU departments, including neuroscience, surgical, trauma, cardiac, and pediatric intensive care, with a focus on collaboration, adaptability, and exceptional patient outcomes.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/10/2026.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, 3 years of ICU experience, proficiency with electronic medical records, and the ability to float between ICU departments including Neuro ICU, Surgical/Trauma ICU, Cardiac ICU, and Pediatric ICU.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Additional ICU certifications or specialized training are advantageous but not required.
  • Float: Float to Neuro ICU, Surgical/Trauma ICU, Cardiac ICU, and Pediatric ICU based on HCP experience; floating to any IMC at the organization with patient ratios of 1:2, up to 1:3 in ICU.
  • Additional Information: The position supports staffing during significant staff reductions, with additional staffing to sustain patient safety and operational efficiency. The nurse will care for sedated, intubated patients and those on pressors, with the understanding that high-complexity care such as CRRT is not required. Candidates must demonstrate focus on patient care, effective communication, and flexibility to accommodate various assignments.
