Description

Job Summary:
Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Plattsburgh, New York. This assignment is a backfill, with an immediate start date. The role involves working nights for a duration of approximately 13 to 16 weeks, supporting the unit with float coverage. The RN will be responsible for providing patient care within the IMCU, adhering to unit policies and protocols.

Job Details:

Schedule: Nights, 12 hours shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Certifications include AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required prior to start. A minimum of 1 year of telemetry experience is needed. Experience with insulin drips, cardiac drips, starting IVs, and post-cardiac cath procedures is required. Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is mandatory. A valid New York license or proof of application with applied date must be included at submission; licensing typically takes 6-8 weeks.
Float: Float rotation may be required.
Additional Information:
- This is a Monday through Sunday assignment.
- No block schedules are available.
- Bi-weekly orientation sessions occur on Mondays; next scheduled for 08/24/2026.
- All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained.
- Complete work history information, including bed count, EMR, and facility type, is required for submission.
- Reliable transportation is strongly recommended, as public transportation is not accessible. Vehicles should be equipped for winter months (November April).
